San Francisco: Painting in My Favorite City

Getting back to “the city” for me is like being home. If I haven’t conveyed this clearly yet: I LOVE San Francisco, especially in the Summer!

One of the biggest reasons is I get to visit with so many friends. I stayed with my friend Ryan Curtis who loves the city so much he started his own walking tour business: ROAM LOCAL. If you are visiting the city and want to have a fantastic experience, click on RoamLocal.com sign up for a walking tour and have some fun! Ryan points me in the right direction for plein air painting and away we go! I went to Chrissy Field, Baker Beach, Lands End, Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Park’s Dahlia Garden, Haight Ashbury, Civic Center, the Mission, and the Castro!

San Francisco was great and I even got to do a small backyard art show at my favorite art space in the city: 3 Fish Studios. Eric, Annie and Staff were more than generous in offering me a chance to show my work! Thank you guys so much! If you are ever in San Francisco and want to see an awesome artistic atmosphere jump on the muni, take the N Judah to the Outer Sunset and stroll into 3 Fish Studios.

I met a lot of new patrons, but also got to reconnect with a friend. Summer recognized me walking by my daily morning sidewalk display in front of Trouble (a local coffee shop) Always cool being in a different city and bumping into someone I knew from years before. I hadn’t seen Summer in over 10 years and that was in Newport Beach.

It indeed is a small world! Summer came to the the 3 Fish show, introduced me to her boyfriend and took home a streetcar piece!
